Almost every weblog allows readers to send comments related to the author's most recent post. While the average blog isn't exactly MENSA material, the average blog comment is usually twice as dumb.
Try to imagine hordes of angry 12-year-olds to lazy to make their own journals and they know nobody will read them, so they piggyback one that gets even minute readership. They submit either "u sukk" or "lol! Right on!" after every ditty the blogger types up, each ultimatly trying to pick a fight with a member of the other camp. This usually ends in a horrible flame war totalling 219 posts.
The only other difference between bloggers and anonymous commentators is that slightly more people care what the bloggers say, but not that much. No one reads comments anyway. I'm not saying you're not allowed to, just that you shouldn't bother.
