A few of you may be curious about why only I may post on this open forum. Simply put, talking to people on the Internet is frustrating, time-consuming, and pretty pointless.
Most people on the Internet hide behind a shield of anonymity that allows them to be rude and irrational without threating their real world reputations. When someone knows they can be a dolt and get away with it, they will. Also, most people on the Internet simply post their opinions so they can give themselves pat answers, and be proud of their ignorance. You just can't reason with people like that, and I've tried. Further more I don't want to spend two days straight arguing with with some teenage punk who thinks he or she knows all their is to know.
People on forums also have the tendency to treat their silly little ramblings like they're the most profound thing ever written. I think it's safe to say that not many people consider some random schmo on the Internet a source of literary revelations. Some people just take themselves too seriously. Such egotism is not rare, as nearly everybody on-line has an ego the size of Georgia, and believes that every type of the key he makes is comedic gold.
And as bad as they are, there are at least 12 more people who will post 'lol', or an equally stupid on-line acronym after even the dumbest post.
Another annoyance is the constant resurrection of threads that should be left to die. Whenever a thread hasn't been posted in for an extended period of time, someone will go back through all the pages of the forum and "bump" it back to the top, long after people have lost interest.
It's better just to leave people like that alone. As Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 14:38 "But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant." Don't waste your time with every 10-year-old malcontent with an axe to grind.
I prefer just to give information. If I ever debate, I'll do it in real life where there is actual interaction. So I'll continue to avoid discussion forums like the plague, and I advise you to do the same. Believe me no one goes to discussion forums to learn anything, they just like the way they type.
