Answered by Cooper Abrams.Hebrews 10:24-25 says, " And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Ephesians 5:25 explains how important the local church is to the Lord Jesus. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it." So clearly here and in other passages we are told how important attending church is for the believer. Jesus says He gave Himself for it and that surely makes it important. It is God's plan that believers join together in serving the Lord, which includes preaching, teaching, worship, and evangelism. I have an article at bible-truth.org/whyatten.htm titled "What's so important about attending church?" you might make a copy of it and give it to your friend. Once people hear the truth....that church attendance is God's plan for us....you will see where your friend's heart really is... Basically, there is no excuse for not worshiping the Lord and worship is always done collectively in a congregation that comes together and honors the Lord, by praying, preaching and teaching, and giving tithes offerings to the Lord in thanksgiving to Him.
